Early life
Growing up, Gabriella was a simple Viera girl growing up in the less popular areas of the Shroud. She had a Father, a Mother, and a brother. The father being one to make use of his trips to the city to get plenty of booze, he often came home agitated and would take it out on his family. Her brother being the one who would protect her at any costs, he would always step in front to make sure his sister was safe, making him the one she relied on the most in her household. She would often take trips into the wooded areas with her brother to forage and Gabby would watch her older brother hunt, which she took a strong liking to. Her brother would often show her how to hunt and how to fight, just in case she were ever in trouble and he wasn't around.
The Trauma
One day, she decided she would use the things her brother taught her to catch something on her own, in an effort to prove herself strong. She took off in the later hours when the sun was still making its way down, to catch herself something. It was supposed to be simple, but partway through her tracking of her hunt, everything went dark. When she awoke she was in chains, shoved into a wagon with a group of other girls; she was kidnapped. Sold to a nobleman far off and used as a slave. She was forced to do many things over the course of two years. Her struggles stacked on her, day after day, the pain becoming unbearable more often than not. Until one day when a raid came into the nobleman's house, bandits and thieves breaking in to make as many things theirs as they could. She hid in one of the wardrobes of the upstairs, praying the things in it were too valueless to look for, including her. But up they came anyways, three strong bandits discovered her while she lay hiding and, seeing her chains, one in particular took an interest to the now older teenager, and he decided to free the girl and ask if she would join up with the tribe, and Gabby only responded by saying if they could get her home she would do anything.

The Journey
The Bandit group introduced themselves as mercenaries, tasked to take out whoever their mark is and profit off of the loot left behind. Their leader, Bobo Wantanobo, saw potential in this young girl and decided to take her under his wing. He taught the girl how to defend herself much more efficiently, educating her on the ins and outs of both clean and dirty ways of fighting. Bo taught her how to use a gunblade and offered her one of his. The two were inseparable, like a father and daughter. Gabby came to love the members of the tribe and realized that they were actually just well meaning mercenaries who wanted to have an excuse to take out the rich and corrupt.
After some time they eventually found their way back to Gabby's home, finding that their father was more drunk than ever, their mother still dark in the eyes and cooking and cleaning, and their brother was nowhere to be found. Gabby tried to plead with their father to change his ways to no avail, and he refused to tell her where her dear brother went. So Gabby stormed off, taking the tribe with them to seek more contracts and distract herself from her past coming back to her. That was until Gabby came face to face with their first voidsent, and a powerful one at that.
The Corruption
In her first real struggle, Gabby (or as she was going by occasionally, Gaia) was fighting the voidsent tooth and nail. It was an extremely difficult fight for her and the tribe, losing many members of the group that Gaia has come to love like family. Through the mourn and the loss Gaia slipped up. A long claw of the voidsent flying straight through the center of her chest, just barely missing her heart. In her shock she blacked out, at least from her perspective. Bo watched on in agony as the once child he was caring for lay stunned and impaled underneath this voidsent. But after a moment, just when the voidsent was going to drain all the aether Gaia had... there was a flash. A bright spark of a cartridge lighting up and stunning the voidsent as its claw lay stuck, Gaia began to saw away at the claw in their chest with a fervor Bo had never seen before. After severing the claw completely Gaia lunged forth and began hacking and slashing wildly at the voidsent, severing all of its appendages before cleaving the thing in two with one cartridged-fueled swipe down the middle
Somehow, miraculously, they survived. But not without consequence.

A New Chapter
Much has happened in the interim, Gaia discovered their love of Fantasias, miraculous bottles that let one change their appearance at will. With this discovery Gaia realized that they quite liked the masculine form. With their new gender identity Gaia took the tribe and ventured back to that old nobleman's manor, seeing the vacancy as a new opportunity. Gaia rebranded the tribe as a caretaker group[, one that would go out and aid the impoverished and orphaned and return them to the manor, where they can seek sanctuary and growth for as long as they please. Day by day new people arrived, new children, adults, and people of all different backgrounds. That was, until the Baroness of the region began to notice that their old slave trader hadn't been i contact for quite some time.
The Baroness, an evil and conniving rat, discovered what the tribe and Gaia had done and decided she would lay siege to their manor. The battle would start and Gaia would be on he front lines, fighting far more ferociously than they had in the past, due to the shard of voidsent embedded in them, they began to crave the blood and violence of battle. That was until Gaia found the Baroness, holding a child by the name of Grandt hostage, the one child that Gaia cherished as they had been the one to rescue him from a slave trader in Gyr Abania. The Baroness could see clearly that with Gaia's strength alone, she had no hope in this battle.
She decided that if she couldnt have this battle, she would take the whole powder shed up in flames with her to attempt to destroy the manor. She lit her match, and with Grandt in her clutches, she would drop it right before Gaia made it to her.
There was a flash of light and flame that overcame the power house, and with that single act half of the manors property would be engulfed in flames, with Gaia near the epicenter.
After the flames were fought off, Gaia would be discovered laying on the ground, blood pouring from their face as the shrapnel cleaved a wound across their face, forever cementing as a scar to be covered by their mask. A constant reminder that no matter how powerful he may be, there is always a chance that someone could take the people they loved away.
They eventually rebuilt the manor, putting it back in business as a safe haven for those lost and tortured by the world to recover, with Gaia and the tribe as its protectors.
